Is calendar-jp.js supposed to be Japanese?
The ISO 639-1 code for Japanese is "ja",
so if this is Japanese it would be better
to rename it to calendar-ja.js

I'm not sure.. It was sent by people and the current Japanese translation is pretty much outdated. I wonder if an UTF-8 version is possible, as I would like all translations to be UTF-8. Anyway, if you know Japanese and would like to contribute a translation, please send me an updated version by email. ;-)

Unfortunately I don't speak Japanese. But our product does support Japanese so I know the ISO code is "ja".
Most of the language files are at least missing DAY_FIRST and WEEKEND. Are people sending you
many updates? It would be nice if the code had defaults so the calendar would work anyway.

Are the UTF files better? I.e. should I use calendar-ko-utf8.js instead of calendar-ko.js?

BTW, great product. This calendar really rocks.
